Relationship Bucket List~Retreat and Heal Contest

Relationships are like a fine wine; it requires care and nurturing in order to age to perfection. What is included in a loving relationship bucket list? Caring, sharing, communicating, loving, compromise, resolution, dreams, growth and ever deepening heart connection. What is included in your relationship bucket list?

The couples who come to Sedona are often overwhelmed with pain and are unable to reach compromise and resolution. During the passionate stage of relationship most couples never think about a time when they will need skills to resolve fights and conflict.

What was your role model for conflict resolution? Most often the role model for conflict is either avoidance of conflict or one partner uses anger to control the situation. Following either role model is a sure behavior destined for disaster.

Compassionate communication is a must for continued heart connections and happiness in relationship. The golden rule for compassionate communication is to keep your heart open and speak from your heart and ask for what you want. This language is always started with I feel followed by what I want. For example: I feel really hurt when you seem distant when I am speaking, what I want is to feel like what I say has meaning in your life and I want to feel loved by feeling heard.

Sometimes when couples are stuck in pain and drama it requires a professional to assist them to move out of pain and back to their heart connection. Our retreats empower couples with tools to get beyond old habits that push love away and reconnect to love.

The bucket list for one of our recent Couple's Retreat guest follows along with their testimonial following their retreat. Bucket list: 1.To feel the love we first felt when we got married. 2. To make love more often. 3. To enjoy our life together and grow as we live the rest of our life together.

Testimonial:
Annie and Jerry,

We arrived at Retreat and Heal and did not have any idea of what we had gotten ourselves into! What we did "get" was MORE than we could have ever imagined. To say it was a wonderful and amazing experience is simply not enough. From the moment we stepped out of our car we felt surrounded with warmth and love.

Our "journeys" with Jerry and sessions with Annie were all so invaluable and exciting. We are so grateful. Thank you for sharing your immense knowledge and special gifts with us. Also for teaching us Reiki, EFT, Reflexology, meditation and sharing "your" Stupa and vortexes. And that is just the proverbial tip of the iceberg. I will, and have already told friends (and strangers) about our life-changing experience. Thank you for your honesty, sincerity and love.

Yours,

Britt and Ted

Stop Fighting and Make Love

Are you sick and tired of drama? Want to run away? Did your role models for relationship teach you to retreat and close your heart. These habits feel normal yet push love away, and often end in divorce. Our couples retreats empower you with tools for communication, teach you how to let go of emotional hurt and pain, and assist each partner to open their heart and share their love. Through the end of the year each retreat includes a copy of award winning Love's Secret Live Your Life In Love.

Follow these tips from Love's Secret to stop fighting and make love.

1.Fighting over the same issues? Keep shutting down and stuffing your feelings? This habit results in an explosion of hurtful words and pushing each other away. Stop. Take a deep breath and hold a vision of the thing you love most about your mate.

2. EFT or Emotional Freedom empowers you with tools to heal your past hurt and trauma and stop toxic fighting patterns. Realize, that each of you are reacting from past hurt and trauma, and never from what is or has happened in the present moment. Until you heal the old stuck hurt and trauma, it will continue to be brought to the surface to be healed and released. Remind yourself that love and connection are your intention and let the old hurt go.

3. Agree on a word that can be used by both partners as a signal to stop the fight. Make an agreement to honor each other and your love by stopping the argument when the word is said by either partner. This word must have meaning for both of you. Words used by previous couples include: love, partnership, agreement, commitment, healing, what is important, the past is over, freedom, I choose love. You can also decide on a symbol of love and unity ie: a Dove, heart, a pink bubble of light. When you feel yourself stuck in reaction say the word and hold the symbol in your mind and breath.

4. If you become so triggered that you can't keep yourself from reacting; you are hitting a core survival issue. When this occurs you might need help to get unstuck. Find someone who has experience working with couples and EFT and give them a call to either work in person, or over the phone.

Our Sedona Retreats offer tools for healing your core issues with EFT or Emotional Freedom Technique. I also work with clients throughout the world by phone and have great results with couples issues, core issues, stop smoking and weight loss. Gift yourself lasting love, invest in a couples retreat and begin 2012 with renewed love a couples retreat is a gift of lasting love.

Does practicing better breathing really become a habit?

Breathing is a great way to improve your health without medication or even supplementation!

read more | digg story
I am a yoga teacher and have taught pranayama for many years. Pranayama is conscious breathing. It has many benefits including relaxation, increased oxygen to your brain and organs and increased mental alertness. There are types of breathing that can balance the functioning of your brain and improve the overall health of all your cells. Can it become a habit? Yes it can but not without practice and a dedicated intention. I studied a technique called the Alexander method which is conscious use of your energy. It is the conscious choice of how you move your body. It was the most rewarding experience I have ever had and full of personal growth. And it was the hardest task I have ever undertaken. To be in the moment and consciously be aware of your breath or how you are moving your finger or your head, feet, sitting, walking is very self confrontational. Generally we like our addicted patterns of acting and reacting to life, and don't like change. We can "think" we would like to be different but creating that difference is a life challenge.

Do you like yoga? And what do you find supports you in creating a daily practice?

A Valentine's Day Wish

What is your wish for this Valentine's Day? To meet prince charming or Cinderella? Or, did you think you had met him or her--but now it seems like the wicked witch turned him or her into a frog? Here are some tips to ignite passion and heat up your realtionship.

Surprise your mate with a date to remember. Don't wait for him or her to read your mind to find your heart's desire. Create a romantic night to remember with romantic flair. Purchase natural veggie oil candles, place flowers of your choice in the bedroom, get an set of sheets that you don't mind getting oil on. Take natural coconut oil and add your favorite medicinal grade essential oils like ylang-ylang, rose geranium, sandlewood, and a hint of ginger (most of these oils are all natural aphrodisiacs). On your chosen night, meet your special one at the door. Run a warm bath and have them soak for at least fifteen minutes. Have their favorite romantic music playing, next wash their back and pretend you are massaging your special one for the first time. After they dry off have them move to your sheets either on your bed or on the floor and massage them from head to toe with your special coconut passion oil. The rest is up to you. Have a wonderful loved filled date with your mate and congratulate yourself for gifting yourself and your special partner a night to remember!
