Thanksgiving, Gratitude, Dyan Garris Blog Tour

Thanksgiving is a special time to offer gratitude, today I feel especially grateful to be interviewing Dyan Garris. She is a wonderful healer and a blessing to all the lives she touches through her music, and DVD's. Yesterday I started the first part of our interview and today I will continue. Be sure to read through the complete interview to recieve my favorite Thanksgiving recipe at the end. Many of my readers enjoyed the free Angel card reading from yesterday so if you haven't yet, click the link above.

Children are such blessings. My two grandsons age two and three respond to energy work so quickly, and love music. They respond more quickly and dramatically to music how would you explain this?
Children are more emotionally open than most adults. They are “allowed” to feel things and express those feelings.

What do you want to share about your experience in creating the Chakra Clearing DVD?
“Doors To The Soul” DVD for Automatic Chakra Balance™ is one of the apexes of my Spiritual Toolbox™. For the visuals I used some of the cards from “Voice of the Angels – A Healing Journey Spiritual Cards.” Those were the base and one prong of the foundation of the “toolbox.” So now they’ve moved into this higher realm. It’s representative of transforming lower vibrations into the higher. They are the cards, but not the cards. Transforming the lower into the higher is one of the goals of the spiritually transformational work we’re all doing here on the planet right now as we move forward on the path to ascension.

And for the music I took the song “The Journey” which is a song from my first CD and reworked it into a different or “higher” version. What’s also interesting about this and what makes the whole “journey” or “toolbox” very different from just a bunch of disjointed products is that the song “The Journey” is comprised of the channeled quatrain verses from the original cards. The verses form a story/song. You see, it’s all a very integrated journey. Everything is designed to work together. Everything in my Spiritual Toolbox™ is part of everything else, just as we are.
It has been proven that meditation can affect the expansion of our brain capacity and memory.

Can you share how music can assist us to expand our memory and the “feel good endorphin” chemical production in our brain?

Scientifically, I don’t know that music specifically helps us expand our memory or not. I do know that music works on our “emotional bodies” and that shift in our energy field can definitely produce a shift in our physical bodies. It’s probably a complex scientific process. But to simplify, think about a song you chose to hear at your wedding, for example, or a song that had deep emotional meaning for you in high school. When you hear that song today, you feel transported by your memories right back to that time; and you may even feel as if you’re physically there again. Music is very powerful.

Can this affect people who are suffering from depression? Can it also affect those who suffer from Seasonal Affective Disorder?
Since music works on the emotional bodies and that in turn produces a physical response, it can definitely lighten a mood in a physiological way. With SAD, which could be characterized by “light withdrawal,” one could listen to music while sitting under their full spectrum light box; and I’m sure they would feel much better with the combination of the two. Any time we can add another dimension or element to something, it’s much more effective.

A lot of people feel very nostalgic during the holidays and get sad and depressed from listening to the normal holiday music. What would you recommend in the way of healing music for them?
Part of the reason people may feel sad when listening to traditional holiday music is that they feel disconnected from their childhood, and perhaps long for a simpler and less stressful time. Another part of it could be that the music conjures up some images from an unhappy childhood. In a lot of ways all of our technology that we’ve created for the purpose of making our lives easier has caused us to have more stressful and hectic lives. Music works on and affects us on our emotional levels, whether we realize it or not, and whether or not we are consciously listening. I recommend that they listen to music that they find soothing and that evokes pleasant times, such as ocean or nature music they might have pleasant associative memories with.

Since I grew up in the south in Tennessee I love either a sweet potato soup or Pecan Soup. This year I am serving up Pecan Soup and here is the recipe. Of course it is served along side some of the traditional dishes like turkey, rosted veggies, roasted sweet potatoes, gravy and mashed potatoes. Enjoy the Pecan Soup.

Cream of Pecan Soup

2 tablespoons butter
1 cup diced onion
1/2 cup celery and leaves
4 tablespoon rice flour (to thicken)
6 cups chicken broth (organic if available)
2 teaspoons soy sauce
Dash of ground nutmeg/cinnamon/ginger (to taste)
3 cup pecans, ground fine in the blender (freshly shelled is best)
2-1/2 cups half-and-half
1/4 cup of Maple syrup

Spread the pecans in an ovenproof pan and toast in the oven, stirring frequently, until lightly browned and fragrant, about 15 minutes. Chop coarsely and set aside.

Melt butter in a skillet over medium-low heat. Add the onion and celery leaves and sauté for 5 minutes. Sprinkle in flour and gradually add the chicken broth, stirring to incorporate flour. Add the soy sauce, nutmeg and ground pecans; simmer 10 minutes. Stir in half-and-half and simmer 5 minutes longer. Remove celery leaves and discard. Garnish with mint sprigs. Makes 6 generous servings.

Happy Thanksgiving. I am grateful to live in one of the most beautiful places on earth and would love to be your spiritual guide to Sedona.

Sedona Retreats, Thanksgiving, Dyan Garris and Chakra DVD's

Spiritual Retreats are a wonderful place to spend Thanksgiving to clear and charge your energy chakras. Today I will interview Dyan Garris for her blog tour and have her share with you about her wonderful and powerful new Chakra DVD's. Visit Dyan's website for a free angel card reading. Read to the end for a special Thanksgiving Blessing Ceremony.

Please explain in layman terms what the chakra system is and how does it affect our health?
We have our physical bodies, which we are very aware of because we can see and feel them. Then we have our chakra system, which is not separate from the physical body, but may seem that way to us because we cannot “see” it the way we see our physical body. The chakra system is contained in the auric field - our energy field - which is part of our physical bodies. Our aura is what surrounds our physical bodies. Imbalance, based on our feelings, belief systems, and our thought patterns, begins outside the physical body and filters in through the chakra system and eventually becomes disease in the physical body.

An example of this would be someone who is very afraid of getting cancer. If they get up every morning and think this fearful thought, and they believe it, eventually it’s going to become a physical reality. Our thoughts are very powerful and form definitely follows thought. Our thoughts go up and out into the other realms and return to us as form made manifest.
If a person has been conditioned to be very fearful how does that affect their chakra system?
Our belief systems shape who we are and how we act and what we think. These are our foundations in this life. Combine a fearful underlying belief system with fearful thoughts, send those out to the universe as truth, and they are going to eventually bounce back and return to you. And when they do, they are going to filter in first through the energy field, the chakra system, and then into the physical body as the truth that you firmly believe that they are. This is the basis of “attracting.”

What do you recommend to release fear and learn to trust?
To release fear and learn to trust, it is necessary to first examine why you are fearful in the first place. You have to get to the very root of why. Do you feel abandoned or unsafe? Ask yourself who taught you such things. You didn’t come in here knowing anything about fear. It was taught to you. And then be willing to let go of whatever it is. Fear is an illusion based on a belief system that isn’t the truth.

How does music clear our chakra system?
Every note, every tone, corresponds to a particular chakra and has the ability to open and balance that chakra. When you put certain notes together in a certain sequence that you know is attuned correctly to each chakra, you then have the ability to clear all of the chakras with music. It’s sort of like fine tuning an instrument.

This is part one of Dyan's Interview I will post the second part tomorrow. Sedona Retreats, Angels, and Thanksgiving

Sedona Retreats are a wonderful place to connect with your Angels and Guides. We have people from all over the world travel to Sedona searching for a deeper connection to the Divine, and to connect with their Angels.

The Picture to the right was taken by Jinny. She has several pictures that are similar validating, that the Angels are there hoving over Sedona waiting for permission to connect.

A strong belief I have is that our Angels are always there waiting to be invited to assist us and guide us to our highest path. However, because of free will, Angels will never interfere unless we ivite them.

Tomorrow I will be hosting Dyan Garris during her blog tour with Nikki Leigh. Visit Dyan's Voices of the Angels webiste for a free Angel Card Reading. Dyan is announcing the release of a new DVD set with music to balance your Chakras. Dyan's music is relaxing, beautiful, and will heal, bless your life, and release your stress.

This week I will be blogging about gratitude and Thanksgiving. This is a wonderful time of year to reflect on the year that is almost complete. By spending quiet time reflecting you are able to harvest the best, and complete with the rest. One of the patterns that I find prevelant with our retreat guests, is that most have in place a certain amount of fear and anxiety. This fear and anxiety was put there by a child who didn't feel safe. However, the child who put the fear and anxiety in the subconscious mind as a survival skill is now an adult.

"Our anxiety does not empty tomorrow of its sorrow, but only empties today of its strength"
~ Charles H. Spurgeon

Journal about your level of fear and anxiety. How much fear and anxiety do you feel on a daily basis. Perhaps, it has been there so long it feels natural and you would feel too vulnerable without it? On a scate of 0-10 how much fear do you feel? Are you ready to let it go?

Our Sedona Retreats provide a safe place to connect with your patterns, and we provide the tools to leave your fear and anxiety in the past. Gift yourself or a loved one with a speacial healing Sedona Retreat.

Spiritual Retreat, Yoga, Stress Management and Peace of Mind

Sedona is a beautiful place for Spiritual retreat and spiritual rejuvenation. With the state of our economy many more are feeling stressed. Today I am sharing another interview with Gurutej regarding stress management through yoga, meditation and breath awareness. One important tip that doesn require money is to spend time in nature watching a sunrise or sunset--read and practice the letting go ceremony below the interview.

Our retreat guests seem to lead very busy lives, how much time must be set aside to practice your DVD’s in order to benefit? An hour but you can keep yourself juicy during the day by using the energy flip charts so you do go days or weeks without the energy you need to stay connected to you and therefore everything else.

I blogged recently about an initiative passed by the Canadian Diabetes Association for health and wellness. It asks Canadians to get moving, eat well, and practice stress management. How do you feel that someone who has diabetes would benefit from your DVD? It will get them moving but moving intentionally. It will get them to integrate their energy. Diabetes is a grief-induced disease. Grief takes your power away. These will give it back to you. The Awakening intuition has a bonus section that gives women tips on how to eat for women, how to eat correctly on your cycle etc.

Meditation has recently become one of the top ten practices for stress management. What is the best tip you can give to someone wanting to begin meditation? No better time to start than now. Sit in a chair or on the floor or couch with your back relaxed but not slouched. Give yourself three minutes and start with a sound. Create Maaaaaaaaa or Hummmmmm. Just do it, breath into it and you will see. Start with 3-7 minutes and expand from there. Make it enjoyable so you will come back not excruciating.

Any other tips or secrets for stress management that you would like to pass on to my readers? 40 years rolled into 10 seconds. Go to http://www.theenergyguru.youtube.com/ and watch these 1-2 minute videos. They will give you a little slice of what you can have and learn about how to uplift your life. That is really what these DVD’s are about how to change and uplift your life so you have the energy and clarity you need to fulfill your destiny.

For more information about Gurutej and The Energy Gurus, visit her websites – http://www.gurutej.com/, http://www.theenergygurus.com/ or http://www.theenergyguru.blogspot.com/
Her virtual blog tour page is http://virtualblogtour.blogspot.com/2008/10/gurutej-presents-4-kundaini-yoga-dvds.html

Here is a special ceremony to practice as we end 2008 and prepare for 2009. Go into nature, and watch the sunset. Write down everything that you are ready to release. As the sun sets visualize, and feel gratitude for releasing the past. Release judgement of yourself and others, forgive yourself and others. Now hold your vision of the future that you want to see. Feel how good it feels to embrace this new future. In our Sedona retreats we have a special fire pit for our letting go ceremony.

Spiritual Retreat, Gurutej, Kundalinin Yoga and Stress Management

Yoga empowers you to create a Spiritual retreat anywhere inside yourself. Yesterday, I shared my journey with Kundalini yoga and also shared that I would be interviewing Gurutej. Before I get to that the picture that you see to the right was submitted by a good friend Jinny. This is a beautiful angel picture taken in Sedona, Arizona.

Now for the interview with Gurutej. Here is a link for Gurutej for her new and powerful DVD's and for her videos.
In 1969 Gurutej met Yogi Bhajan. Bhajan is credited for having brought Kundalini Yoga here to the United States. As one of his original students, Gurutej emerged as a founding practitioner of Kundalini. Through his instruction and spiritual guidance, Gurutej is considered a foremost authority on Kundalini and internationally recognized as one of a handful of Kundalini Yoga Masters in the World. For more information about Gurutej’s background, visit her bio page .

Hi Gurutej please explain Kundalini Yoga for our readers: I could say it is the coiled energy at the base of the spine but truly it is the coiled or latent awaiting energy encoded in every fiber of our being which links us to that infinite energy.
It goes up the spine but we also need to know how to bring it back down. Up is the fun part but distributing this energy so it serves our total being and our projection into the world- that is the part that matters.
Anyone who has ever written something or has a product knows creation is only part of the package distribution is the key. How to of distribution of the Kundalini is what all talk is about.

How does Kundalini Yoga release stress and the nervous energy from the energy field? Kundalini Yoga is a great esoteric and practical science. The magnetic field is the first line of defense in the body. Through specific asanas and chants Kundalini yoga helps calm the parasympathetic nervous system. The sympathetic nervous system helps us do what we need to do. Parasympathetic nervous system helps us release and relax.

Try this: Finger Tips Release

Relief for over-worked hands and brains
Hands facing, join fingertips with light pressure. Move hands in and out by bending the fingers.
A variation is to lightly tap the fingertips or with fingertips lightly touching create little circles
1-2 minutes

Gift

The stimulation of fingers nerve endings activate various glands in the brain. Helps feel more lively and relaxed.
This seems like a tiny little thing to do, and yet calms our nerves and releases stress. In my Energy Guru flip charts there are 18 of these in each chart. They can sustain you during the day. Put them on your desk; carry them in your purse. Use them.

I experienced a Kundalini Awakening in my late twenties, this awakening happened after practicing Kundalini yoga on my own without a teacher, is this common? I lived in a remote are in Tennessee and there were no teachers available.
Common? It happens to enough people and each person matters. It is allot of energy and is always best practiced with a head covering so the energy doesn’t just burst out the 10 th gate. Also the nervous system needs to be strong enough to handle the energy. How do you know if yours is strong enough? If you drink allot of caffeine or do allot of sugar then you will want to precede slowly as you release these habits. They both weaken the nervous system as does lots of other stressors and life situations. Changing our response to these will help to.

I’ll give you a couple that came to me last weekend. I am doing a tour in Feb/March 2009 there is no room for mistakes. I have someone in England and another person in Ireland coordinating my teaching there and a third person for one part of India and a fourth person for the other part of India. I get this call on Saturday telling me that the place I think I am teaching in London is booked with another group. That it is urgent that I call the owner and straighten it all out. I had just spent $300 on postcards and shipping to publicize this trip. Catch I didn’t set this up in the first place and the person that did is very responsible. Do I follow as I was instructed to do by a dear friend of the owner of this center I am to teach in or my own intuition, which said, “Relax let Rashpal deal with this she will do a great job. Just call her and make her aware that there is a problem.” I did and two days later it was all resolved in my favor. We ruin our nerves for nothing. Fear creates stress and strain. Fear causes disconnect which creates more fear and so on.
Prevention is always the best. Do Kundalini yoga with a teacher, a DVD with someone who has studied for many years and knows what he or she is speaking of because they have done it. There is always room for the Kundalini energy to come up at any time and it can happen making love or playing ball. We all need to strengthen our nervous system so we can handle the energy.

Way to prevent it from happening:
Squeeze root lock if ever you feel it is too much energy. That means squeeze the rectum and sex organs and lift that energy up to the navel no further. Keep the energy low and let the rest of the energy come back down to that level. You can also pull neck lock, which means bring the head back link an Egyptian Turtle. You may look like you have a double chin but it stops the energy flow from blowing through. These are part of the lock and Banda system that are part of Kundalini yoga
Kundalini seems to be more vigorous than most yoga practices; can you recommend a gentle breathing meditation for a beginner?
Four Part Breath: Miracle Breath
Breaks up feelings of being overwhelmed and anxious
[Blow your stress away!]
Sitting up straight, inhale through the mouth, filling your lungs in four equal parts—starting the breath as low as possible in the abdomen. Exhale through the mouth in four equal parts, from the upper chest down. If you feel relaxed you can do this exercise breathing through the nose. Repeat the cycle.

1-3 minutes

Gift

Instantly reduces stress, so you may see a situation more objectively. Helps dissolve feelings of overwhelm and nervous anxiety.

Another:
Hum—To rebalance you and make for easier communication (connect head and heart)
Easy to do almost anywhere.

Put your lips together and create the sounds hum the heart sound.

60-90 seconds

Which of your DVD’s would you recommend for a beginner? Intermediate? Advanced? The Chakra Yoga DVD is great because it has 2-3 exercises for each of the 8 chakras. You can do it all or just parts you feel you need.
I don’t think in these terms to be truthful. Each DVD gives you alternatives if you can’t perform the exercise the way it is shown. Kundalini yoga is more about going past your own comfort zone into a place of strength and break through. They are not hard exercises in terms of acrobatics they are usually self-challenging. Constantly confronting yourself as you challenge yourself to hold your arms up in at a certain angle, and just keep them there come what may. It requires that you connect deeply within to your deep inner core and a neutral mind, beyond fear and ego. You stretch beyond your fears and self imposed limits and are honest about what might hurt you, and what you just really don’t want to do because it is hard. They are very different.

Once you get an exercise you close your eyes 90% of the time so you get connected to you. That is what KY is about. You feeding the essence of you using your body as the vehicle to do this.

What is special about your DVD set? I will give you a quote from a very well known literary agent in LA. He said and he is a trained Iyengar teacher and has published three yoga books, these are the best yoga DVD’s I have ever seen. Everyone over 30 should be doing this kind of yoga.” Joel Gotler

Spiritual Retreats, Happiness, Stress Management and Peace of Mind

Spiritual retreat is a great time to go within through yoga, meditation, and spiritual focus. Tomorrow I will be interviewing Gurutej a well known, and sought after kundalini yoga master and teacher. Her blog tour is being hosted at Promo 101 Virtual Blog Tours.

Well over thrity years ago I began my yoga journey. I first began my studies in yoga looking for ways to deal with stress and to keep in shape. Little did I know, at the young age of twenty-five, that yoga had many deeper benefits than just being in shape. I continued my yoga quest and began to study and practice daily yoga with tapes from Kripalu Center just outside of Boston. This daily practice transformed not only my body, but soon began to transform my mind, and my life. I studied about the body, mind and spirit, and the connection between the mind and physical disease. In 1991 I founded and directed a state-approved school and clinic of holistic health and become one of the first schools in CA to offer a state-approved Yoga Teacher certification.

Yoga has been my guide for creating a deeper connection to spirit and stimulated a kundalini awakening in my late twenties that changed my life forever. Kundalini yoga is a very powerful yoga practice that transforms stress, and creates unlimited energy for health and vitality. Follow these tips to practice awareness and deep breathing throughout your day. Breath awareness will empower you to end your day with energy for your home and family.

Commit. Make a commitment to be present throughout your day and take your reactions off auto-pilot. In order to change you must learn your stress buttons and realize how stressed you are. Each time you become aware of holding stress in your body or mind take a deep relaxing breath and learn to let go.

Visualize the most beautiful place you can remember. Feel yourself in your peaceful place in your mind. Squeeze your shoulder blades together, breath deeply again, and as you exhale allow your body to completely relax. See yourself full of energy at the end of your day having accomplished all your tasks and still full of energy for your evening at home.

We would love to be your spiritual guide to Sedona. If you have heard the call to Sedona, we would love to assist you in creating a life changing spiritual retreat.

Spiritual Retreats, Thanksgiving, Gratitude and Happiness

Sedona is a beautiful place to celebrate Thanksgiving. What is your favorite Thanksgiving feast? Thanksgiving is a time to reflect on the year and look at what we are harvesting in our lives.

"As a child I understood how to give; I have forgotten this grace since I became civilized."
~Ohiyesa, Santee Sioux~

Take time this week to reflect on what you love to give, what you love to receive and take inventory on the balance that exists in your life between your ability to give and recieve.

As I drive into Sedona I am always grateful for the beauty of the landscape. The first time I saw Sedona was over twenty years ago and it continues to take my breath away with it's majestic beauty. People travel from all over the world and their story always seems to be the same. I feel Sedona calling me and I don't really know why. Is it Sedona that calls the seekers? Or is it Spirit calling the seekers to Sedona for Spiritual Renewal through Spiritual Retreat?

Sedona Sunset and Sedona Full Moon

Sedona Arizona is known for some of the most beautiful sunsets in the world. Take a look at this sunset and the beautiful full moon. I will be posting another full moon video where Rebekah and I saw a rocket cross the moon and then travel straight up to heaven.

The full moon is a good time to clear up all the incompletes that you have started. That means to make a list of all the projects that you have started and haven't completed. Schedule each one or discard it and complete the energy. Once all the energy has been cleared from your incomplete projects you have freed up energy to complete the new projects you want to complete before the next full Moon. The next full moon will be 12-12 and will be a good time to complete with 2008. Write in a journal and take a look at this year. What has been your major accomplishments this year? A Spiritual Retreat is a good time to clear away all the stress and emotions from 2008 so that you can create an action plan for 2009.

Sedona Retreats for Peace of Mind

Sedona is a little quite these days. It seems that since the election that everyone is waiting to see what happens next. Are you looking for new ways to release the stress you are feeling over the future?

"Nobody can go back and start a new beginning, but anyone can start today and make a new ending."

Maria Robinson

Since the aftermath of the Secret, What the Bleep, The Opus and other inspirational movies many have been forced to accept responsibility for their life. Just like the economy, our government is being forced to take responsiblity for blunders and greed that has been denied for years. The first step toward moving forward, is to clear all the creations that you have begun and acknowledge where you are, then you are empowered to move forward to where you want to be.

Take time to clear your home of all things that have no meaning or inspiration for you. When you look around make sure that everywhere you look there are things that you love that fill your environment. If there is artwork, clothes, or clutter in your environment, take time to give it away. A Sedona Retreat is a great way to spend Thanksgiving, leave me a message or give me a call if you need assistance in planning a special Sedona retreat.

The theme this month is gratitude and Thanksgiving. See how much gratitude you can spread to the people around you for the remainder of November. If there is someone that you know that doesn't have family near, spend time with them before or during Thanksgiving.
